Women's Tennis Team, Five Individuals Earn Academic Honors from ITA

HOUGHTON, Mich. — The Michigan Tech women's tennis team and five individual tennis players have earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA team that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above. Individuals must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters.

The women's tennis team boasted a 3.54 cumulative GPA for the 2013-14 academic year.

Four student-athletes from the women's team—Kat Donovan, Audrey Hutton, Natalia Lebedeva and Kwang Suthijindawong—all earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors with their 3.5-or-better GPAs. Luke Doskey from the men's tennis team was also recognized as an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
