Tech Tennis Sweeps Lake Erie 9-0
HOUGHTON, Mich. — The Michigan Tech tennis team remained undefeated on the season with a 9-0 victory over Lake Erie today at Gates Tennis Center. The Huskies surrendered no more than three games in any match in claiming their first GLIAC victory of 2012.
Tech started the match with a 2-0 lead as the Storm forfeited at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles due to not having enough players.
The Huskies' top duo of Natalia Lebedeva and Dunja Imran Al-Sous swept their opponents 8-0. No. 2 doubles team Kwang Suthijindawong and Emilia Tenizbaeva earned an 8-1 triumph.
Michigan Tech singles players won in straight sets in all five flights contested. Senior Chelsea Uganski was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 5 singles.
Tech will play at home again tomorrow at 10 a.m. vs. Walsh.
