The Huskies are hoping to keep momentum gained under first year head coach Bulut Ozturk and a 5-0 win against Saginaw Valley State last time out. Just four games remain in the regular season with the GLIAC Quarterfinals scheduled for April 25 (top eight team qualify). Tech is currently in sixth place amongst 10 teams.

LAST TIME OUT: Jesse Jacobusse scored twice and Michigan Tech picked up a 5-0 win over Saginaw Valley State to finish off a long road trip Saturday afternoon at Braddock Field. Grace ShawHaley Ruiter, and Allison Thelen also scored in Tech's highest margin of victory since September 27, 2019 (W, 6-0 vs. Purdue Northwest). The Cardinals fell to 0-3-0 this spring. The Huskies lost a 2-1 overtime contest at Ashland on Thursday night at Ferguson Field.

FOR THE HUSKIES: Shaw leads the Huskies with 10 points (three goals, four assists). Shaw has 20 shot attempts with 12 shots on goal. The Green Bay, Wisconsin product made six starts last season. Jacobusse tied for second on the squad with three assists last season. This spring, she is all about scoring goals, with a team high four markers including one game winner. Jacobusse started all 16 games last year.

Coach Ozturk continues to split weekends with goalkeepers Amanda Young (senior) and Erika Gabriel (junior). Young made two saves and played 101 minutes in the 2-1 overtime loss Thursday. Gabriel earned her second clean sheet Sunday against SVSU with two saves in her third start.

SCOUTING THE TIMBERWOLVES: Northwood (2-1-1) has wins over Purdue Northwest and Davenport this season. They have had one game postponed (Grand Valley State). Sophomore forward Juliana Paoletti leads the squad with three goals, including two game winners. Paoletti ranked seventh in the GLIAC in scoring with nine tallies in 2019.

Junior midfielder Jessica Piper ranks second in points with three (one goal, one assist). Piper was named honorable mention all-conference in 2019 after tying for the team lead in assists (three). The Timberwolves have scored six goals and also allowed opponents to six times. The Timberwolves are fifth in the GLIAC standings. The team improved by seven wins last season to finish 9-9 overall. Head coach Chelsea Hunter is in her third year at the helm.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS: Ferris State (5-0-0) is the only five-win club in the GLIAC and holds first place with 11 goals for and just one goal against. The Bulldogs compiled a 13-5-2 overall record and narrowly missed their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2019 after falling in the GLIAC Tournament semifinals.
