HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech soccer program and Head Coach Michelle Jacob are pleased to announce the addition of Leah Goldman for the upcoming 2017 season. Goldman signed her National Letter of Intent on Thursday to continue her academic and athletic career as a Husky.

"Leah is fit, fast and persistent and has the same work ethic and never give up attitude that has made our program successful over the last seven years," Coach Jacob said. "Her runs off the ball pull defenses apart and she takes people on every time she gets the ball. Leah is also willing to fight to get any lost ball back. She is calm and comfortable with the ball at her feet while looking to combine with her team mates. She is also positive, encouraging and hardworking and we are looking forward to her contributions as a Husky."

Goldman, a forward from Mundelein, Illinois, prepped at Mundelein High School where she earned North Suburban All-Conference, All-Tournament, and academic honors. Midway through her senior season this year, Goldman owns nine goals and 14 assists. Off the field, Goldman is involved in a variety of clubs (Robotics Club, Art Club, Coexist Club, Diversity Club, Byte Club) and the Future Business Leaders of America. She plans to major in Environmental Engineering at Tech.

Goldman joins Jesse Jacobusse (Zeeland, Mich.), Orion Koepsel (Neenah, Wis.), Brooke Schauer (Pulaski, Wis.), Amanda Young (Grand Rapids, Mich.), and Emily Zeitunian (Dexter, Mich.) in the 2017 recruiting class. Jacobusse, Koepsel, Schauer, Young, and Zeitunian all signed their NLI's in February.

Michigan Tech will kick off the 2017 season at Winona State (Sept. 1) followed by another non-conference game at St. Cloud State (Sept. 3). The Huskies open the home portion of the 2017 schedule against Bemidji State on September 8th.
