Two Soccer Huskies Named All-Region by Coaches

HOUGHTON, Mich. — Emily Morin (Barrington, Ill.) and Jacqueline Mielke (Green Bay, Wis.) have both been named to 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Continental Tire NCAA Division II Women's All-Midwest Region teams.

Morin, a sophomore defender, was selected to the all-region second team. The All-GLIAC Second Team selection started all 18 games for the Huskies. She helped Tech rank fourth in the GLIAC in goals against average, allowing fewer than one goal per game (.97).

Mielke, a sophomore midfielder, started all 18 games and led the team in goals (nine) and points (21) on the season en route to being named All-GLIAC Second Team. She scored three game-winning goals including a double-overtime tally vs. Walsh on Oct. 5.

Michigan Tech finished 2014, the program's fifth year of existence, with an 11-5-2 record and the program's second NCAA Tournament berth.
