HOUGHTON, Mich. – For the third-straight year, the Michigan Tech women's basketball team will open the GLIAC Tournament at home as the No. 4 seed, the Huskies will welcome No. 5 seed Parkside to the SDC Gymnasium, Wednesday, slated for a 6 p.m. tipoff.

All home and GLIAC games will be streamed on FloSports. With one subscription, Michigan Tech fans can watch all home and conference games in volleyball, basketball, football, soccer, and hockey. About the Rangers

Parkside wrapped up the regular season with an overall record of 15-11 and a GLIAC standing of 10-8 to claim the fifth seed in the GLIAC Tournament. The Rangers most recently had a weekend split with a 91-78 loss at Ferris State Thursday before downing Lake Superior State 83-47 on Saturday.

Sheridan Flauger and Paty Gallasova average double-figure scoring at 12.3 and 10.8 points per game, respectively. Flauger is one of the top 3-point shooters in the league, at a clip of 35.4 percent from long range, hitting over two triples per outing.

The Rangers have a quick-paced offense pacing 76.1 points per game, ranking 14th nationally and atop the GLIAC. UWP also has a top-10 bench, seeing 31.6 points come from the reserves.

Defensively, Parkside holds its opponents to 37.3 percent from the field as Kendal Zeiter (1.23) and Chloe Van Zeeland (1.00) average over a block a game.

The Rangers were tabbed eighth in the most recent Midwest Regional poll.

About the Huskies

Michigan Tech concluded the regular season with an overall standing of 15-11 and 11-7 in the loop. The Huskies earned the fourth seed in the GLIAC Tournament following a weekend split at the SDC Gymnasium, handling Davenport 91-64 Thursday before falling to No. 2 nationally-ranked Grand Valley State (57-46) on Senior Day Saturday.

The Huskies opened Thursday's tilt with the Panthers with Alex Rondorf hitting the first shot of the day, a 3-pointer that made her the 29th player in program history to score 1,000 career points. 

For the second-straight Thursday, Tessa Leece netted a new career-high with 19 points to lead four Huskies in double-digit scoring. Katelyn Meister (14), Alyssa Wypych (13) and Emma Anderson rounded out the double-figure scorers.

Sara Dax made her return to the court after a four-game hiatus, chipping in 10 points and a team-leading six rebounds on Saturday. Meister scored eight points Saturday and is now just four points away from becoming the third player this season and 30th in program history to score 1,000 career points.

Isabella Lenz continues to pace the Huskies offensively with 12.7 points per game, while Alex Rondorf grabs 6.6 rebounds per outing.

The Huskies were ranked 10th in the most recent Midwest Regional poll.

One Last Thing

The two teams split in the regular season, with the home team prevailing. Parkside bested the Huskies on Jan. 18, with Tech righting the road loss with a win at the SDC Gym on Feb. 10.
