Huskies Not Selected for NCAA Tournament

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The 2018-19 Michigan Tech women's basketball season has officially come to an end after the NCAA Tournament selection committee didn't select Tech as an at-large bid in the Midwest Region on Sunday (March 10).

The Huskies completed the season with a 21-9 overall record and a 16-4 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Huskies claimed their 16th GLIAC North Division/Conference title this season and were the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament. The Huskies defeated Northwood on Tuesday 78-48 in the quarterfinals, but fell to sixth ranked Ashland 77-61 in the semifinals on Saturday.

Ashland University, Grand Valley State, and Northern Michigan were the three GLIAC teams selected for the 2019 NCAA Div. II Women's Basketball Tournament. Drury, Lewis, and Truman State were chosen from the Great Lakes Valley Conference and Walsh along with Kentucky Wesleyan received bids from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
