Winter Picked for GLIAC All-Tournament Team

ASHLAND, Ohio – Lindsay Winter of the Michigan Tech women's basketball team was named to the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team, announced by the conference office following Sunday's championship game. Winter helped lead the Huskies to the GLIAC Final Four as the No. 4 seed in this year's tournament.

Winter, a junior guard from Clare, Michigan, combined to score 42 points in the tournament, including a single game career high 27 points in Tech's 82-66 victory over Ohio Dominican Tuesday night in the GLIAC quarterfinals. Winter notched her second double-double of the season with 10 rebounds and 15 points against Ashland, which matched a single game career high for rebounds. She picked up a combined 15 boards thanks to five in the contest with ODU. Winter dialed in 13 of her 22 shots from the field (59.1%) and was on target with 8 of her 15 attempts behind the three-point arc (53.3%). She also accumulated eight assists during the GLIAC Tournament.

On the season, Winter is averaging 10.6 points per game and is currently tied for third in the GLIAC in three-point shooting percentage (43.1%). Winter and redshirt junior Brenna Heise are both tied for the team lead in rebounding with each player hauling down 5.1 boards per game.
