HOUGHTON, Mich. – Danielle Blake had a game-high 25 points while Kylie Moxley and Morgan Anderson also reached double-figures to help the Michigan Tech women's basketball team to an 80-38 victory over Northern Michigan tonight (Feb. 25) at the SDC Gym.

The win guarantees the Huskies at least a share of the GLIAC North Division championship, the 14th regular-season conference title in school history.

"That was a great game for our team and for our program," said Kim Cameron after the 42-point win by her club – the largest margin of victory for the Huskies vs. Northern in the 40-year history of the rivalry. "We set the tone early and played well the whole night. I can't tell you how much this moment meant to our team and program. Winning the GLIAC is really hard to do and knowing what it took for us to accomplish it this year, it's really special."

Michigan Tech went 32-of-53 in field goals as a team (60.4 percent) and led by as much as 44 in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter.

The Huskies were equally as impressive on the defensive end of the court, holding the Wildcats to 38 points on 14-of-46 shooting on the night. Tech's persistence on the defensive end also led to 23 points off of 22 turnovers.

The two squads traded points early in the contest before the Huskies went on a second-quarter run on which they shot 81 percent as a team and opened up a 30-point lead by halftime.

Michigan Tech (19-7 overall; 17-5 GLIAC) will host Grand Valley State Tuesday (March 1) in a GLIAC quarterfinal matchup at the SDC Gym in Houghton. Tickets to the game are available at the SDC Ticket Office and over the phone at 906-487-2073.
