GLIAC Women's Basketball Championship Information

HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech will play host to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament Championship this weekend at the Student Development Complex Gym for the ninth time in the 25-year history of the event.

The top-seeded Huskies will play No. 4-seeded Grand Valley State in Saturday's (Mar. 7) first semifinal at 12 noon. The second semifinal will pit No. 3 Ashland vs. No. 7 Walsh at 2:30 p.m. The semifinal winners will meet for the GLIAC Tournament Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday (Mar. 8) at 2 p.m.

Tickets for the GLIAC Women's Basketball Championship will go on sale Thursday (Mar. 5) morning at 8 a.m. at the Central Ticket Office (906-487-2073) in the Student Development Complex. Prices are $15 for reserved seats, $10 for general admission, $5 for youth (age 3 through grade 12) and free for Michigan Tech students (with valid ID).

Each ticket will be good for one round of competition at the SDC Gym (ie. one ticket covers both games Saturday and a separate ticket is needed for Sunday).

Michigan Tech season ticket holders have until 9 p.m. on Friday (Mar. 6) to reserve their same seats.

Tech's women boast a 25-2 overall record and No. 9 national ranking. The Huskies are 14-0 at the SDC Gym this season and 20-5 at home in GLIAC Tournament games.
