THIS WEEK'S NOTES

2-0 VS. TOP-10 RANKED FOES
Michigan Tech defeated No. 8-ranked Wayne State last Saturday (Dec. 13) for its second victory over a top-10 team in the national poll. The Huskies knocked off No. 10 Concordia-St. Paul at the SDC Gym on Nov. 21. Tech was 1-2 vs. ranked teams in 2013-14.

HUSKIES JUMP INTO WBCA TOP 25
Tech earned its first national ranking since early last season with a No. 20 position in this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II Poll. The Huskies last ranking was a No. 22 mark  on Nov. 18, 2013. Tech is 7-0 overall and one of 16 unbeaten teams remaining in the country.

ANDERSON CAREER HIGH 17
Morgan Anderson poured in a career-high 17 points vs. No. 8 Wayne State last Saturday (Dec. 13) for her fourth 10+ point game of the season. Anderson  ranks third on the team in scoring and is the team leader in assists (3.0 apg).

ANOTHER NSIC OPPONENT
Minot State will be Tech's four Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponent this season. The Huskies have already defeated Minnesota Duluth, Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State thus far in 2014-15. Tech and Minot State have never met in women's basketball.

CAMERON TWO AWAY FROM 100 WINS
Fifth-year head coach Kim Cameron owns a 98-28 (.777) career record with the Huskies. With two more wins, she'll become the fourth straight Michigan Tech coach to reach 100. Kevin Borseth (1987-98) is the winningest at 225-97.

SHARING THE ROCK
Five different players have led the team in scoring in seven games this season. Four Huskies average double figures in scoring, led by Brenna Heise's 13.1 points per game. Kelli Guy (12.7), Morgan Anderson (11.0) and Danielle Blake (10.1) are the others.

WINNING STREAK AT SEVEN
Michigan Tech owns a 7-0 record on the season, marking just the second time in the last decade that they have started with wins in their first seven contests (a 10-0 start in 2009-10 was the other). Tech finished with 31-3 records each of the last two seasons it started 3-0 or better (2009-10 and 2010-11).

QUICK HITTERS
• Michigan Tech is 59-6 (.908) at home during Kim Cameron's career as head coach.
• Tech has made four appearances in the NCAA Elite Eight. Its most recent was in 2010-11, when it finished as national runner-up.

CHAMPIONSHIP PEDIGREE
The Michigan Tech women's basketball program owns 12 GLIAC North Division titles, five GLIAC Tournament championships and four NCAA Midwest Region crowns in its 39 previous seasons of intercollegiate women's basketball.

NEXT UP
Michigan Tech will have nearly two weeks off before it's next contest—a Jan. 2 trip to Columbus, Ohio, to face GLIAC opponent Ohio Dominican.
