Blake Gains GLIAC Player of the Week Honors
BAY CITY, Mich. — Michigan Tech women's basketball player Danielle Blake (Midland, Mich.) has been named GLIAC North Division Player of the Week after a strong outing vs. No. 10-ranked Concordia-St. Paul last Friday (Nov. 21). The junior forward notched 23 points and nine rebounds in the 65-54 victory over the Golden Bears in the Huskies' home opener.
Blake shot 9-of-12 from the field and added three steals and two blocks to her game-high 23 points. The preseason All-GLIAC First Team pick was a big factor in the Huskies holding Concordia to just 21 second-half points.
Michigan Tech plays a second straight non-conference home game this coming Saturday (Nov. 29) when Minnesota State comes to Houghton. Tipoff at the SDC Gym is slated for 2 p.m.
