HOUGHTON, Mich. — Morgan Anderson scored 36 points with nine assists, five steals and zero turnovers in Michigan Tech's 107-56 exhibition game win over Finlandia at the SDC Gym tonight. The sophomore guard buried 9-of-13 3-pointers in the contest as part of a 19-for-29 team effort behind the arc.

Tech led 53-37 after a half that saw the hosts jump out to an 18-5 lead before the Lions came back within 40-32.

The Huskies grew their intermission margin from 18 to 31 in the first four minutes of the second half and never looked back.

All 12 available Tech players saw the court and 11 scored as the team played its final preseason game. Jillian Ritchie (15 points), Kerry Gardner (14) and Kylie Moxley (11) joined Anderson in double figures. Ritchie led all players with eight rebounds.

FU's Marissa Burke tallied 26 points for the visitors.

"We tried to make some adjustments based on what we learned about our team in the first exhibition (last Sat. at UW-Green Bay)," said Tech coach Kim Cameron. "Our keys were turnovers, rebounding and a good start.

"I thought we struggled a little bit in the first half getting stops. We didn't slow them down from the 3-point line. As the game wore on, we were able to close out better and force them to put the ball on the floor.

"Overall, it's a good performance. I'm excited about all the things the exhibition games have shown us and ready to get back to work preparing for our opener."

Tech shot 58 percent from the field including a 66 percent clip from long range. The Black and Gold also had 28 assists with just six turnovers in the contest. The Lions converted just under 40 percent from the field for the contest with 10-of-23 3-point shooting. They committed 21 turnovers.

Michigan Tech plays its regular season opener at Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 15. The tipoff time for that game was recently changed to 1 p.m. ET/noon CT.
