Four Huskies Qualify for NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Michigan Tech has qualified four individuals for the 2015 NCAA Skiing Championships it was officially announced today by the NCAA Skiing Committee. The Championships will take place on March 11 and 13 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Tom Bye (Eden Prairie, Minn.), Alice Flanders (Crystal, Minn.), Deedra Irwin (Pulaski, Wis.) and Haakon Hjelstuen (Oslo, Norway) will represent Michigan Tech and the NCAA Central Region at Lake Placid. Bye and Irwin qualified automatically by virtue of being selected to Team USA for the World Junior Championships in early February. Flanders, Irwin and Hjelstuen all won multiple races throughout the season.

The Nordic events will be held at Mt. Van Hoevenberg with freestyle races on Wednesday (Mar. 11) and classic races on Friday (Mar. 13).
