Timberwolves run out Huskies 7-0

MIDLAND, Mich. - Suffering their third shutout loss of the season, Michigan Tech men's tennis fell 7-0 to Northwood University Friday afternoon in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The Timberwolves swept doubles play and carried momentum into five straight-set wins in singles.

Vitor Jordao fought Max Wild (NU) hard at No. 2 singles and picked up a first set tiebreaker before Wild came back to win 6-7, 6-4, 7-5.

"Today wasn't the best day for our team," commented head coach Kristin Yep. "We played into Northwood's strategy too much and we were not proactive in creating opportunities for ourselves to win points. We will have another chance to improve tomorrow against Wayne State."

The Huskies (0-7, 0-3 GLIAC) are still in search of their first victory and will play at No. 9 ranked Wayne State Saturday at 10 a.m. Northwood (7-10, 2-7 GLIAC) hosts Lake Superior State on Saturday.
