Men's Tennis Falls 9-0 at Findlay
FINDLAY, Ohio — The Michigan Tech men's tennis team opened its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule with a 9-0 setback at Findlay today.
The Oilers (2-2, 1-0 GLIAC) swept doubles play with an 8-3 win at No. 1 and 8-1 scores at both Nos. 2 and 3.
The Huskies (1-2, 0-1 GLIAC) lost all six singles flights. The top three were tightly contested especially at 2 and 3. Javier Oliveros was two points away in his match at No. 2. He dropped the first set 6-4, won the second 6-4, then fell in a super tiebreaker 10-8.
Built Yumuang had a similar fate, with a 5-7, 7-5, 10-6 decision at No. 3.
UF's Robin Semal defeated Tech's Robin Duhnsen 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles.
Michigan Tech will play again tomorrow (Feb. 22) in Ohio. The Huskies are scheduled to face the Tiffin Dragons.
