Tech Hockey Ranked No. 14 in Both National Polls

HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech is ranked No. 14 in both national college hockey polls this week. The Huskies remained at No. 14 in the USA TODAY/USA Hockey Magazine poll and moved up a spot from last week in the USCHO.com poll.

Tech, which is unbeaten in its last eight games (5-0-3), swept Lake Superior State during Winter Carnival with scores of 3-0 last Friday (Feb. 5) and 3-1 last Saturday (Feb. 6) to improve to 16-7-5 overall and 13-6-3 in WCHA play. The Huskies are just two points out of first place in the league standings with six games to go.

Michigan Tech is the highest-ranked team in the WCHA in both polls. Minnesota State (17) and Bowling Green State (19) also cracked the USCHO.com poll.

Tech has this weekend off before traveling to face Bemidji State on Feb. 19-20. The Huskies next home games are Feb. 26-27 vs. Alaska.
