Gervais Earns GLIAC Commissioner's Award

BAY CITY, Mich. — Brett Gervais has added GLIAC Commissioner's Award to an impressive list of accolades from his senior season at Michigan Tech. The defensive back helped the Huskies to a 7-3 record in 2015. 

Gervais started all 10 games for the Huskies, racking up 61 tackles, three interceptions and two forced fumbles. He was named to the All-GLIAC First Team and All-Super Region 4 Team. 

With a 3.79 grade point average in exercise science, Gervais became Tech's 20th Academic All-American. He also claimed the prestigious Merritt T. McFarland Award as the top Division II scholar-athlete in Michigan.

Gervais finished his career with 203 career tackles and eight interceptions. Michigan Tech compiled a 29-12 mark over his four years with an NCAA Playoff appearance (2014) and GLIAC Championship (2012).

GLIAC Commissioner's Awards are presented after the fall, winter, and spring athletic seasons to six female and six male GLIAC student-athletes (all sports) that excel both in the classroom and on the fields of play.
