CSGO

Summer was good for the Huskies with a League Championship win in ESEA IM S41. Placing first in the Intermediate Division awarded promotion to the Advanced Division for Season 42. Few collegiate rosters have ever earned the privilege to compete at this high of a level. The competition proved stiff, with three losses in a row to open the season. However, the Huskies have since found their footing and strung enough wins to avoid relegation.

Last week MTU defeated Danker Memerson in overtime on Dust2 19-15. Tyler "LordOPies" Short and Hunter "retnuh" Holm led the effort with 33 kills each. With a heartbreaking loss Friday 14-16 to Sigma Males on Overpass, MTU now sits in the mid-division with 5 wins and 5 losses. Playoffs are still possible if the Huskies convert the next two matches into wins Monday and Wednesday.

Over the weekend, MTU participated in the ESEA NA Advanced League Division Cup putting up a respectable 1-1 record. The first match against Team Valence was a grueling slugfest on Inferno. However, the Huskies went the distance in double overtime winning 22 rounds to 20. Eros let the Huskies play Nuke, but the experienced semi-pro roster was too much for the student-athletes and the Huskies only found 6 rounds to Eros' 16 ending the run in the tournament.

MTU ran over Ashland University 2-0 Friday for the NSL season opener. Seven rounds on Overpass and one single round on Inferno is all the Eagles could put together. Hunter "retnuh" Holm put up a staggering 34 frags and 223.7 Skybox™ calculated ADR on Overpass. Relive the victory on the MTU Twitch page.

Friday, the Huskies face Kennesaw State for a playoff rematch. The match was selected to be featured on the league Twitch page, don't miss it!

League of Legends

The season starts later for the Husky summoners, but that has not stopped the roster from finding good competition. In the NECC Activation Thursday, Tech lost to the Conestoga Condors where Hayden "BIG DADDY BARD" Long had a kill participation of 83 percent as Vex and Aidan "Oscar Wilde" Vandrie did 43,052 damage to champions as Ezreal. Quick on their feet, the Huskies defeated the Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks. Team captain David "Poro in a Box" Scott secured 14 kills as Lillia and Brandon "Oblivionize" Cox had a CS score of 56 as Fiddlesticks.

The Huskies go into week 2 of the NECC qualifying rounds with a 1-1 record. They are currently scheduled to face Cleveland State and the University of Montana Thursday.

Overwatch

Expect updates as Overwatch 2's release in October draws closer.

Rocket League

On Monday, Tech lost 1-3 to the University of Kansas for the NACE Starleague Varsity Premier season opener. The recording is available on the MTU Twitch. The team had 5 saves in game 1.

The Huskies face the Sienna Heights University Saints tonight at 7 p.m. live on the MTU Twitch page!

Super Smash Bros: Ultimate

Week one's game against Central Michigan University was rescheduled for Thursday because Tech was on the road.

The Huskies sent their best to Riptide in Sandusky Ohio to cut their teeth against some of the best players in North America. In a tournament of 776 entrants, Cameron "Psyke" Duffy fared the best with a 2-2 record. But, no Huskies broke through pools in their first large event appearance.

Fresh from a long weekend of intense practice, the Huskies are ready for their doubleheader debut Thursday. The Chips first at 5:30 PMp.m.and then Oakland University at 7. Catch the action live on the MTU Twitch page.
