Fall Sport Student-Athletes Honored by GLIAC for Academics

BAY CITY, Mich. — A total of 95 Michigan Tech student-athletes earned recognition from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for academics as the league announced its Fall Academic Excellence Awards and All-Academic Teams.

Huskies student-athletes from cross country, football, volleyball, women’s soccer and women’s tennis were lauded for their work in the classroom.

Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season and not a freshman or a first year transfer student. All-Academic Teams are comprised of those student-athletes that meet criteria and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0-3.49. Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.50-4.0.

Across the GLIAC and its 16 institutions, 1,129 student-athletes achieved all-academic recognition with 589 on All-Academic Teams and 540 on the Academic Excellence list.
