HOCKEY
The Huskies extended their winning streak to four games with a pair of 3-2 victories over No. 19 Northern Michigan. Tech scored twice in the third period for a comeback win on Friday at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena. Parker Saretsky, Colin Swoyer, and Brian Halonen scored for the Huskies. Tech jumped out to a 3-0 lead Saturday in Marquette and held on for the 3-2 win. Raymond Brice, Alec Broetzman, and Eric Gotz scored. Matt Jurusik had 24 saves Friday and 33 Saturday. Tech wraps up the month in Alaska for the second meeting between the two teams. The puck drops at 11:07 p.m. both nights in Fairbanks.
CROSS COUNTRY
The men's team finished 13th at the NCAA Championship in Sacramento, California with Matt Pahl (21st) and Braden Reichl (23rd) earning All-America Honors. Clayton Sayen (44th) also placed in the top 50. Emily Byrd led the women's team in 55th place. The Huskies finished 24th as a team.
VOLLEYBALL
The No. 23-ranked volleyball team defeated Grand Valley State 3-1 on Wednesday in the GLIAC Quarterfinal, swept Northern Michigan in the semifinal Saturday, and then fell to Ferris State in the GLIAC Championship Sunday. The Huskies are 23-7 overall and will wait for Monday's release of the NCAA Tournament bracket. The field will be announced at 7:30 p.m. at NCAA.com. Laura De Marchi (Setter of the Year, First Team), Olivia Ghormley (Attacker of the Year, First Team), Matt Jennings (Coach of the Year), MacAulay Petersen (Second Team), and Megan Utlak (Honorable Mention) were all honored by the GLIAC on Friday.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Huskies went 1-2 last week with an 80-75 win at Minnesota State Monday and a pair of losses at the SDC Gym to Concordia-St. Paul (65-59) Friday and Minnesota Duluth (69-59) Sunday. Ellie Mackay (18.3) and Hanna Hobson (10.3) led the Huskies in scoring in the three games. Abbie Botz chipped in with 9.3 points and 8 rebounds. The Huskies are off until the beginning of GLIAC play on December 5 against Saginaw Valley State at the SDC Gym.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Tech fell 85-80 to Minnesota Duluth in the home opener at the SDC Gym Saturday. The Huskies rallied from a couple of double-digit deficits to get within striking distance, but the Bulldogs were able to hold off the late Tech charge. Tommy Lucca scored a career-high 34 points making 12-of-19 shots. Dawson Bilski (12) and Owen White (11) were also in double figures. The Huskies are back on the court Friday at Alaska Anchorage (11:30 p.m.) followed by a battle with Alaska (9:15 p.m.) Saturday.
