Huskies receive three CoSIDA Digital Design awards

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech Huskies earned three awards in the 2018-19 CoSIDA Publications and Digital Design Contest. CoSIDA announced the award recipients on Tuesday (June 18), following last week's annual convention at the Orlando Marriot World Center.

The Remembering Thatcher feature video placed second in the "Video Feature - University" category, earning an award for the second time this month. The feature was released as part of Copper Country Strong. It was the most popular video ever produced by Michigan Tech Athletics after drawing 140,000 views.

The football signing day motion graphics came in first in the "Motion Graphics/gifs - College" category. The graphics were created as a lead-in to each signees introduction video that was posted on social media and linked to the National Signing Day release on MichiganTechHuskies.com.

The hockey goal motion graphics placed third in the "Motion Graphics/gifs - University" category. The graphics were posted on social media throughout the hockey season when a Tech hockey player scored.

CoSIDA sponsors a variety of media guide/publication and digital design contests and an annual writing contest for its members, with every CoSIDA member at every level having the opportunity to receive recognition for his/her work. It's no small honor to earn an award since the judging is done by news media/communications professionals who use those publications in their work.

Motion Graphics/GIFs: Two divisions (University and College) are offered for motion graphics/GIFs. These are In-House produced motion graphics used to promote an athlete, program, game and/or event through social media outlets.
