Tech Athletics to Host Business After Hours Event With TV6 & FOX UP

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech Athletics and Recreation and TV6 & FOX-UP are partnering to host a Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena on Thursday, May 11, beginning at 5 p.m.

The event includes a social with free food, drinks, and prizes, and will allow local businesses to discover potential advertising opportunities at Michigan Tech as well as TV6 & FOX UP.

"We're excited to host this event for the third year in a row with TV6 & FOX UP and the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce," said Suzanne Sanregret, Michigan Tech's Director of Athletics and Recreation. "Our advertising partnerships are vital to the success of our top-notch teams across all sports and are mutually beneficial to our advertisers by gaining brand recognition at our athletic events."

"TV6 and FOX UP is proud to be part of this Business After Hours event again," said WLUC Vice President and General Manager, Rick Rhoades. "It's a great way to reach out to the people of the greater Houghton/Hancock area while fostering our continuing partnership with Michigan Tech Athletics and the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce."

Michigan Tech Athletics staff will be on hand to showcase the wide variety of advertising options available throughout the facilities, website, ice arena video board, and game day experience.

"With more than one million visitors annually at the Student Development Complex and surrounding athletic venues, we feel this is very valuable opportunity for our business partners," added Sanregret. "We look forward to growing our partnership program as we move forward."

TV6 & FOX UP personalities including TV6 Morning News Anchor, Andrew LaCombe, will be there. TV6 & FOX UP will also be giving away an advertising certificate valued at $2,500, a large screen TV, and merchandise from TV6, FOX UP, the Fox Network, and NBC.

The event has brought in over 150 business owners and administrators over the past two years.
