HOCKEY
The Huskies swept Lake Superior State in the WCHA Quarterfinal series at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. The Huskies outscored the Lakers 14-4 on the weekend with a 6-4 win Friday and an 8-0 shutout Saturday. Five different Huskies scored Friday with Jake Jackson burying twice. Seven players scored Saturday with Joel L'Esperance potting a pair. Angus Redmond had his fourth shutout of the season Saturday with 16 saves. Tech won its 20th game, its fourth over LSSU this season, and the seventh straight over the Lakers overall Saturday. The Black and Gold dominated in shots all weekend 89-34. Tech has won six straight WCHA first round playoff games—all at home. It was the fourth straight playoff home game with at least five goals for the Huskies. The Huskies now advance to the WCHA Semifinals, hosting Minnesota State this weekend. The puck will drop at 7:07 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and if necessary, Sunday. Current season ticket holders have until noon on Wednesday (March 8) to secure their seats for the next round. Bemidji State hosts Bowling Green in the other WCHA Semifinal.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Huskies finished the 2016-17 season with an 81-59 loss to Ashland, the nation's top team, in the GLIAC final four. Tech advanced to the semifinal with an 82-66 win over Ohio Dominican on Tuesday at the SDC Gym. Lindsay Winter was named to the GLIAC All-Tournament Team scoring 42 points in the two games, including a career-high 27-point outburst Tuesday. Morgan Anderson wrapped up her career with a 28-point game against the Eagles after scoring 15 vs. ODU. The Black and Gold wrapped up the season with a 20-8 overall record—the fifth 20-win season under coach Kim Cameron.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Tech's season came to an end in the GLIAC Semifinals with a 79-71 loss to top-seed and host Ferris State Saturday. The Huskies advanced to the final four by defeating Wayne State 92-84 Tuesday. Kyle Monroe was named to the GLIAC All-Tournament Team with 49 points in the two games, including notching his 1,000th career point Tuesday. Bryan Heath (15.5), Jordan Chartier (15), and AJ Grazulis (13) also averaged double figures in the two games. Tech finished the season with a 16-14 record and says good-bye to seniors Chartier, Mike Fisher, Jason Hawke, Nic Stoll, and James Wezensky.

NORDIC SKIING
Five Huskies will be traveling to the NCAA Skiing Championships this week as Carolyn Lucca, Sonja Hedblom, Gaspard Cuenot, Tom Bye, and Tomi Mikkonen all qualified. They will ski in the classic races on Thursday morning and the freestyle races Saturday morning. All the events can be watched for free at NCAA.com.

TENNIS
Both the men's and women's tennis teams are in Hilton Head, South Carolina this week for spring break. The women opened up the trip with a 7-2 win over Catawba College. Kwang Suthijindawong, Sandra Cvetanovic, Vicky Quinde, and Allenca Rolim won their singles matches with the three double duos taking their matches.
