HOCKEY
The Huskies dropped a pair of games at Bemidji State over the weekend. The Beavers won 4-2 Friday and 3-0 Saturday. Mitch Reinke scored for the fourth game in a row Friday to open scoring. Cliff Watson also scored for the Black and Gold. Angus Redmond had 15 saves each night. Tech is 16-11-7 overall and 13-5-6-3 in the WCHA. The Huskies clinched home ice for the first round of the WCHA playoffs for the third year in a row over the weekend. They host Ferris State this weekend for the annual Winter Carnival series. The two teams will battle for the MacInnes Cup. It is the only meeting of the season between the two teams. The puck drops at 7:07 p.m. Friday and 5:07 p.m. Saturday from the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. The Huskies are 6-1-4 at home this season.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Tech won two of its three games last week, defeating Northern Michigan 76-62 Monday and Northwood 78-61 Thursday. The week wrapped up with a 98-84 overtime defeat at Lake Superior State Saturday. Kyle Monroe averaged over 25 points, including a 33-point outburst at NMU. Tommy Lucca (18.7), Jordan Chartier (13.7), and Bryan Heath (11.7) also averaged double figures during the week. Tech (13-10, 11-5 GLIAC) hosts Wayne State and Saginaw Valley State at the SDC Gym this week.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Huskies went 1-2 in their three games last week. They fell 66-55 at NMU Monday and 61-52 at Northwood Thursday. Saturday the Black and Gold bounced back with a 67-60 win over LSSU. Lindsay Winter led the Huskies in scoring, averaging over 17 points per game for the week. Elizabeth Kelliher (11) and Brenna Heise (10.7) also averaged double figures. The Huskies are 15-6 overall and 11-5 in the GLIAC and host Wayne State and SVSU this weekend from the SDC Gym.

NORDIC SKIING
The Nordic ski teams hosted the CCSA Championships at the Tech Trails over the weekend. Both the men's and women's teams finished second to NMU. Tom Bye (4th) and Tomi Mikkonen (6th) led the men's team in the 10K classic Saturday. Gaspard Cuenot (2nd) and Bye (4th) both had top five finishes in Sunday's 20K freestyle. Carolyn Lucca and Sonja Hedblom led the women's squad with eighth and ninth place finishes both days. They skied a 5K classic Saturday and a 15K freestyle Sunday. The Huskies ski in the Rhinelander Qualifier on Saturday.
