Visiting Media Information
Credentials
Applications for working press credentials must be made a week in
advance of the game to be covered by filing a request with the
sports information office. Upon acceptance, appropriate credentials
will be held for pick-up at the WILL CALL WINDOW at the SDC's
Central Ticket Office. No one will be admitted to the press box who
is not in an official capacity.
Photographers
Photography credentials are
issued to media and department photographers only. Photographers
must remain in the designated areas of the MacInnes Student Ice
Arena.
Radio
Requests for radio broadcasts must be made through the athletic
communications center. Stations may also wish to install their own
lines and may do so upon receiving broadcast permission. For line
installation, stations should contact IT Telcom on Michigan
Tech’s campus at 906-487-2800. Stations are limited to three
spots in the pressbox.
Television
Special arrangements must be made through the athletic
communications center at least three weeks in advance of live
and/or delayed broadcasts of games at Michigan Tech.
Press Box Services
Game notes, programs and media guides will be available
approximately one and one-half hours before the scheduled starting
time of Michigan Tech athletic events. Box scores, with a brief
summary of the game, will be distributed after each period, while a
complete game summary will be available approximately 10 minutes
after the contest has ended. Information on scoring and updates of
other games around the country are relayed to media in the
pressbox.
Parking
Parking is free for all Michigan Tech athletic events on a
first-come, first-serve basis.
Coach Interviews
Coaches are available for interviews at any time throughout
the week and prior to games. They may be contacted directly, or if
assistance is needed, contact the athletic communications center.
Generally, it is best to reach coaches in the mornings.
Player Interviews
All requests for player interviews should be made through the
athletic communications center. It is the policy of coaches not to
allow player interviews prior to the game on game days.
Post-Game Interview Policy
Michigan Tech players and coaches will be available following a
10-minute cooling-off period after the game. The visiting coach and
players will be available outside their locker rooms. Media wishing
assistance in conducting post-game interviews should contact the
appropriate team’s sports information director in the press
box during the contest.
