Robert J. Murray
Inducted October 19, 1996

A force on defense for the hockey team from 1968-71, Robert Murray contributed 11 goals and 44 assists in 95 games during his storied career.

He earned First-Team All-American honors along wiht First-Team ALL-WCHA laurels his senior season. In addition, he was also named the team's Most Valuable Player as a senior, and remains today one of only three defense man ever at MTU to earn that honor.

Murray earned All-WCHA Honorable Mention recognition in both 1968-69 and 1969-70 and was named MTU's Outstanding Defensive Player in 1969-70.

Following graduation, he went on to play professional hockey for six years, including stints with the Atlanta Flames nad Vancouver Canucks.
