Gary Lundin helped the Michigan Tech men’s basketball program reach new heights during his career. He played from 1952-53 and 1954-56 and continues today to be one of the most accurate free throw shooters in school history. Lundin paced the club in free throw accuracy as both a junior and senior.

As a senior in 1955-56, Lundin helped the Huskies to what was then the best season in school history, with 14 wins and just four losses. He was part of a team that set the school mark for most points in a single season (1628), best offensive average (90.4 points per game), most points in a road game (119 at Northland), and most games over 100 points in a season (five).

Lundin earned team MVP honors in both 1952-53 and 1955-56. All total, he played in 62 career games and scored 795 points.

Lundin also won three letters in track and field (1953-56) and was a member of the record-setting one-mile relay team. In addition, he set what at the time was the school record in the 440-yard dash.
